"Creativity is inventing, experimenting, growing, taking risks, breaking rules, making mistakes, and having fun."

Why Not Make Something Up?
for musicians is an experiential workshop for high school and college-aged youth that teaches individuals how to develop and honor their unique creative abilities. The workshop focuses on applying four fundamental compositional elements -- melody, rhythm, ostinato (groove), improvisation – and results in a collaborative musical composition. Participants receive hands-on instruction in creating the piece from Daniel Arite. An organic approach enables the work to go wherever participants direct it. The nurturing environment that Daniel creates encourages everyone to let loose, try something new, and most importantly, have fun! Workshop Values and Skills Enhancement Musicianship Creativity Self-Discovery Confidence Team Building Leadership The workshop can be hosted by a school, or organization, or community group. For more information contact Daniel Arite at boschinstitute@yahoo.com or 615-837-6487 At the completion of the residency, organizations can arrange to have the composition performed in an informal assembly with parents and staff or as part of a special evening's length concert including other works by Mr. Arite. The concert performance is optional and will require separate arrangements.
